The 2013 Kopaonik Business Forum, which is expected to bring together more than 500 participants, was informally opened with a welcome cocktail on Tuesday evening.

The president of the Serbian Association of Economists (SES), Aleksandar Vlahovic, welcomed all participants and guests, saying that this year the Business Forum on Mt. Kopaonik (western Serbia) marks its 20th anniversary. He noted that the SES had continually improved the quality of this significant event in recent years.

Branka Djukic, the director of the Tanjug news agency which is the media partner of this year’s forum, addressed the forum’s participants and media representatives, underscoring that the ideas and initiatives launched at the 2013 Kopaonik Business Forum would be of great assistance to the government in formulating Serbia’s economic strategy.

Djukic stressed that Tanjug itself would make sure that these ideas and initiatives get the best possible media coverage.

All those who think that a release is still the main means of informing the public are mistaken, Djukic said, adding that the future of the media lies in all channels of modern communication.

The host of the informal gathering on Kopaonik, the owner of MK Group Miodrag Kostic, gave a warm welcome to all the participants and guests.

“Reindustralization and Related Topics” sets a basic thematic framework of this year’s Serbian Davos, which is expected to bring together a great number of businessmen from the country and region, state officials and representatives of international institutions.
