Serbia’s Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said that the new labour law will enter the parliamentary procedure in the next seven days, after which its adoption is expected. Vucic said at a meeting with members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia (AmCham) that the laws on privatisation and bankruptcy as well as on planning and construction are being worked on intensively.

He said that Serbia will have the best incentives in the region, due to the fact that reform laws will be enacted in the next two months, while the decision on the implementation of fiscal consolidation will be made in late summer or early autumn.

Serbia, in addition to improving the business environment, will have to find ways how to boost growth and stop the recession, due to the fact that the new measures reflect the reduction in demand, the Prime Minister explained.

According to Vucic, the future investors will be able to count on government guarantees as well as those provided by the local governments.

We will focus on solving problems in enterprise restructuring and finding strategic partners, he said.

He stressed that the government will create the conditions for private sector development, which will allow you to re-develop the entrepreneurial spirit, with the employees in the public sector will be encouraged to move to the private.

Executive Director of AmCham Serbia Maja Piscevic said that the government can count on members of AmCham, which will support all reform initiatives.
