Serbia can count on more than billion and a half euros from IPA funds in the next six years, the European Commission announced. The spokesperson of EU Enlargement Commissioner Štefan Fule, Peter Stano, presented EU plans of assistance to the candidate-states through 2010 from IPA-2 funds. In that period, Serbia is to obtain 1.508 billion euros, much more than any other country in the region. Stano explained that a new element in the IPA-2 programme was a simplified procedure, which enables a more elastic approach to setting priorities. The funds have been intended for structural reforms and the promotion of regional cooperation, said Stano.
