A contract on the construction of a sanitary landfill in Vranje, Serbia was signed

The financial agreements with the German development bank KfW for the construction of a regional sanitary landfill in Vranje, whose investment in the first phase amounts to 13.3 million euros, were signed today (September 3, 2021) by the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Tomislav Momirovic.
The beginning of the construction of the regional center for waste management is planned for the second half of 2022, with the planned deadline for completion by the end of 2024, it is stated on the website of the Government.
The Minister pointed out that he expects that from 2025, environmental projects will become dominant in the investment cycle, which will be a priority of the Government and the Ministry.
The mayor of Vranje, Slobodan Milenkovic, said that the project is important for the city of Vranje and for the entire Pcinja district.
KfW Director for Serbia Rudiger Hartmann expressed satisfaction with the launch of this project of sustainable development in the field of environment. He added that the successful long-term cooperation with the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure and the city of Vranje has already been shown in action and that he hopes for its continuation on new projects, eKapija reports.
