Abu Dhabi Arms Fair – Serbian factories present their products

On Sunday, February 21, Defense Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic attended the opening of the 15th International Arms and Military Equipment Fair “Idex 2021” in Abu Dhabi, at the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler and Minister of Defense of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashed al Maktoum.
Before the official opening of the Fair, Stefanovic met informally with the State Minister of Defense of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed Ahmed al-Bovari al-Falasi, it is stated in the announcement of the relevant ministry.
On that occasion, he pointed out that this leading arms and equipment fair is a good opportunity for our defense industry to show what it has created in the previous period and what it can produce.
Stefanovic said that during this event, he would meet with defense ministers from several countries, with whom he would discuss joint cooperation, “on what can be done in the complex time of the pandemic to make our army more efficient and to have more joint exercises which we will help to make the multifunctional operability of our army good.”
During the first day of the Fair, Stefanovic visited the stand of JP Jugoimport SDPR, where a part of the production program of the defense industry of Serbia was presented.
This international event is held every other year under the auspices of the President of the UAE and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of that country, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan.
“Idex” is the only exhibition in the region of the Middle East and North Africa where the most modern technologies for all types of armed forces are presented.
The fair attracts the attention of state and military representatives, ie users of weapons and military equipment, which is a good opportunity for the world to see what Serbia can offer in the field of defense industry, it is stated in the announcement.
Located at the National Exhibition Center in Abu Dhabi, this year’s fair, and in the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic, gathered more than 900 exhibitors from 59 countries, in strict compliance with the prescribed health protection and epidemiological measures and to prevent the spread of Covid-19, eKapija reports.
