The airline Air Serbia has leased, the second in a row, a Boeing 737-700 aircraft from the Czech carrier Smartwings, writes Ex-Yu-Aviation.
Air Serbia and Smartwings have concluded an “ACMI” lease agreement on a “wet lease” basis, which means that the Czech airline will provide the aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance. For now, it is planned to operate flights at least until the end of the month.
The 18-year-old plane joined the fleet last Friday and has since been deployed on charter flights from Belgrade to Rhodes, Antalya, Chania, as well as to regular destinations such as Tirana, Dieseledorff, Istanbul and Frankfurt.
Another Smart Boeing 737-700 aircraft has been leased by Air Serbia on a “wet lease” basis since June. This aircraft was primarily used for charter flights, but also a number of flights to Albania, Italy, Germany and Montenegro.
The lease agreement between Air Serbia and the Czech airline lasts until September 26, Nova Ekonomija reports.
