Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade Rasim Ljajic has conferred with Russian Minister of Agriculture Nikolai Fyodorov about the recent detection of pesticides in 60 tons of apples which were imported from Serbia to the Russian Federation.

The analyses of the suspicious amount of apples are not over yet, and representatives of the Russian phytosanitary inspection pledged to send the final results as soon as they are done, the Serbian minister said during Wednesday’s visit to Moscow.

Ljajic told reporters that he was assured by Fyodorov that this case will not affect further export of apples, and that 75,000 tons of apples that Serbia exported to Russia last year were evaluated as high quality.
