The Ministries of Defence of Angola and the Republic of Serbia have agreed Wednesday, in Luanda, on the construction of military infrastructures in Angola, says the final communiqué of talks between both delegations.
The projects include a new military hospital, a medical logistics chain and a drug manufacturing unit as well as the rehabilitation of the Lubango Airbase, in addition to the training of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) personnel.
This cooperation programme was established during the three-day visit to Angola of Serbian Defense minister, Aleksander Vucic, at the invitation of his Angolan counterpart, Cândido Pereira Van-Dúnem.
According to the statement, during the meetings, which began Monday, the sides reviewed issues of bilateral interest, with particular emphasis on analyzing the status of implementation of the Agreement on Military Technical Cooperation.
The two countries’ delegations emphasized the role of both countries in maintaining peace and international security, as well as exchanged views on the prevailing situation in Syria, DRC, Mali, Guinea Bissau, as well as, in general, the regions of the Gulf of Guinea and Great Lakes.
The Serbian delegation congratulated the Executive and the Angolan people for achievements in consolidating peace and democracy and praised the efforts that are being undertaken for national reconstruction and development of the country.
In turn, the Angolan delegation congratulated the Government of Serbia for the stabilization and security of the European country, as well as its economic and social performance.
