Around 2,000 vehicles were sold at the 52nd International Motor Show in Belgrade, which is about 10 percent more than last year, said Milan Vukasovic, acting director of the Serbian association of car and parts importers, on Monday.

The most expensive cars were again the quickest to sell. The S-Class Coupe from Mercedes-Benz, worth EUR 230,000, was one of the first cars bought, said Vukasovic.

The majority of the sold automobiles cost between EUR 8,000 and EUR 12,000, and the best selling makes were Skoda and Fiat, Vukasovic told Tanjug.

The Belgrade motor show, held March 20-29, brought together some 400 exhibitors from 26 countries, and presented 50 new models of motorcycles, trucks and cars.

This year’s show saw a record attendance of around 150,000 visitors, and according to importers, gave a strong boost to the market that was in decline since the beginning of the year.
