Serbian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic and Russian Railways President Vladimir Yakunin visited the works on the Belgrade-Pancevo railway and announced that the section would be completed before the deadline of November 1, 2016.

Mihajlovic said that Serbia had started utilizing intensively the USD 800 million Russian loan, intended for modernization of the Serbian railways and financing the overhaul of a 15 km section from Belgrade to Pancevo.

“This is the first time in the last 20 years that Serbia invests in railway infrastructure modernization,” Mihajlovic told reporters in Pancevo.
