The blockchain video summit of Serbia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be held in October with the aim of connecting and improving cooperation between companies in innovative and fast-growing technologies, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC) announced.
The gathering, which will be attended by a large number of representatives of companies and experts from our country, UAE and India, will be organized with the support of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC) and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, announced Marko Selakovic, head of the SCC Office in UAE.
“It is a great recognition that the partners from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce recognize Serbia’s intention to position itself as a leader in the development of blockchain technology in the region and Europe. The United Arab Emirates is one of the most innovative economies in the world, with an extremely wide range of applications of blockchain technologies in various spheres of life and business. With the inclusion of India, as one of the global leaders in the field of IT industry, this virtual summit will open an opportunity for business connections between companies from Serbia, the UAE and India,” said Selakovic.
He points out that, in the new business reality, creating opportunities for the development of innovative solutions and business improvement is a priority of the SCC Offices in the UAE.
Blockchain technology is one of the youngest branches of the IT industry, and the first association with the majority, when mentioning blockchain technology, is the trade in cryptocurrencies, they say in PKS.
However, they explain, blockchain is currently used wherever there is any type of transaction, and it also serves as a tool for tracking goods.
In Serbia today, there are over 20 companies that specialize in the development of blockchain, while an increasing number of companies offer blockchain to their clients, explained Marjan Stojanovic, secretary of the Association for Electronic Communications and Information Society PKS.
The Government of Serbia has recognized blockchain technology as the fastest growing branch of the IT sector in Serbia, and the new regulations will provide additional incentives for investing in blockchain companies, which will contribute to their development and competitiveness on the world market, said Stojanovic.
He reminds that a Blockchain section was formed within the Association with the aim of developing activities to improve the application of this technology in various fields in Serbia.
The PKS blockchain section is also actively involved in the activities of the Working Group of the Government of Serbia, which deals with the drafting of the crypto-property regulatory framework in the Republic of Serbia, it is said in the announcement, Nova reports.
