Businessmen from the Leningrad region are looking for partners in Serbia

A meeting of domestic businessmen with colleagues from the Leningrad region looking for partners in Serbia was held today at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC), at which it was assessed that there is great potential for improving cooperation between Serbian and Russian companies in the field of construction equipment and materials industry.
The meeting with businessmen from the Leningrad region is only the first in a series of business negotiations organized by the Center for Economic Cooperation “Business Geometry” from Russia, with the support of PKS and the Russian Trade Representation in Serbia, at the Chamber of Commerce in late August and early September.
“Talks with partners from the Leningrad region are planned to last for two days, and then negotiations with companies from the Omsk region and the Republic of Mordovia will continue. The Leningrad region is represented by three companies, the Omsk region and the Republic of Mordovia six each. Serbian company for about ten days,” said Jelena Ivankovic, a senior adviser at the Center for Asia, the Russian Federation and the CIS Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, the PKS reported.
As stated, the data for the first six months of this year confirm the good economic cooperation between Serbia and Russia.
It was specified that compared to the same period last year, exports increased by 17.23 percent and amounted to 529.3 million dollars, imports decreased by 38.2 percent and amounted to 666.1 million dollars.
At the same time, the export of services in five months amounted to 111 million dollars, and the import to 90 million dollars. The director of the company “Radik” from Arandjelovac, which deals with the sale of construction materials, Marko Radisavljevic, met today with potential Russian partners.
“We came to meet the representatives of the Russian company from the construction sector in order to start the distribution of their products in Serbia and the region,” said Radisavljevic.
The director of the Export Center of the Leningrad region, Ksenija Pjanih, stated that representatives of the construction and agricultural sectors came to Serbia.
“Some companies from the Leningrad region buy blueberries from Serbia for juices and the confectionery industry. We know that Serbia has a growing construction sector, and we have many construction companies, so we see the possibility of joint projects and cooperation,” Pjanih pointed out.
The general director of the company “Helpkompozit”, Dmitri Ivanov, said that the company is interested in expanding to markets outside Russia.
“That’s why we came to suggest to Serbian companies to implement our products in their business,” he said.
Director of the Representation of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Serbia Vladimir Grishin believes that, in accordance with good bilateral relations between Russia and Serbia, it is necessary to further use the potential for cooperation between Russian regions, companies there, to the Russian market and work on joint projects, Kurir reports.
