Chinese are building a 300 million dollars port

Contracts for the Danube River facilityand the section Surcin–Obrenovac, will be signed during the visit of Chinese President, Xi Jinping. The new road that will connect Corridors 10 and 11, will cost 210 million EUR.

Chinese President Xi Jinping visit, will provide secure signatures for Serbia on two important infrastructure projects – the port on the Danube River, and the Surcin – Obrenovacroad section. These two countries will, according to “Novosti”, will sign a memorandum on the construction of the strategic port near the “Mihajlo Pupin” bridge,valued at300 million dollars. It is certain that commercial agreement with a Chinese bank will be signed, for the section that would connect corridors 10 and 11, valued at 210 million EUR.

Great Chinese company, engaged in port operations, will invest in the construction of the port near Pancevo, for which Chinese had previously shown their interest. It is strategically important port due to proximity of the Zemun – Borca Bridge, and special benefitsfor transport traffic, becausethe construction of large industrial zoneis planned nearby.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure ZoranaMihajlovic announced that, during the president of China Xi Jinping’s visit to Serbia, the commercial contract on the construction of the Surcin-Obrenovac section of Corridor 11 would be signed.The Surcin-Obrenovac section is part of the highway from Belgrade to Cacak and is the only section of that highway whose construction is not yet secured by a contract. It is expected that this agreement today will be found at a Government RS session.

She pointed out that the signing of around 18 to 22 agreements and protocols is expected during the Chinese president’s visit, and that they would concern the industrial zone, healthcare, culture, education and infrastructure.

Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic will lead the first meeting of the Council for Infrastructure Development, which will be established during the visit of China’s first man, and is expected to be scheduled for the end of July. Our country will also gain on importance, as on these meetings, which will be in Belgrade, will be decided on all the projects that China will consider to invest in Europe and other 16 countries of the Old Continent.

Certanly visiting the “Zelezara Smederevo”

China’s first man will certainly visit one of the largest investments of his country in Europe –”Zelezara Smederevo”. Chinese “Hestil” company bought the Serbian steel plant, on April 18,for 46 million dollars, and will invest in it about $ 300 million dollars. This company is interestedin,at least, three companies in our country, including the RTB Bor.
