Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, Branko Ruzic and Head of the World Bank Office in Serbia, Stephen Ndegwa assessed that the cooperation between the relevant ministry and the World Bank is very successful and has excellent results, according to the Government’s website.
Speaking about the project activity of the two institutions which build, arrange and adapt preschool institutions in at least 30 local self-governments throughout Serbia, Ruzic expressed gratitude for the readiness to work together to create better conditions for children’s development.
He stated that the plan is to open the first three kindergartens in Doljevac, Zitoradja and Sremska Mitrovica soon, as well as the beginning of construction works on five new kindergartens in Krusevac (two facilities), Merosina, Loznica and Smederevo.
At the same time, he said, we will take care of marginalized groups, supporting them to overcome the challenges they now face, in order to make upbringing and education more accessible and inclusive for children from these groups.
Ruzic emphasized that initiating the transformation of scientific research institutes and centers is also extremely important.
According to him, the faster development of our educational system, and especially the scientific and technological capacity of our institutions, directly motivates young people to stay and continue their careers and training in their country.
Ndegwa underlined the very successful cooperation between the two institutions, with the expectation that it will continue to improve, eKapija reports.
