Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic and President of the Maccaferri Group Gaetano Maccaferri reached an agreement on the construction of ten small hydropower plants on the Ibar River whose value amounts to €350 million.
Dacic pointed out that this is the first part of a strategic project for the construction of hydropower plants in the Republic of Serbia and Republika Srpska worth €2 billion.
The officials pointed out that this is a regional project, the largest of its kind in Europe, which is implemented through strategic partnerships of Italian Seci Energia, the Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) and Republika Srpska.
Dacic and Maccaferri also pointed out that the planned construction of hydroelectric power plants on the Ibar and Drina will be performed by domestic companies.
