Development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Serbia

At a meeting in Astana, foreign ministers Yerzhan Kazykhanov and Vuk Jeremic have agreed that the first meeting of the Kazakhstan-Serbia commission on economic issues will happen in 2012. The foreign minister of Kazakhstan also noted that Kazakhstan fully supports the proposal of the candidacy of Serbia as the chair of the OSCE in 2014. In the same year, Kazakhstan-Serbia diplomatic relations will celebrate 15 years.

«Our countries have signed an agreement on free trade, mutual protection of investments and very important agreements on the visa free regime between Kazakhstan and Serbia. Our residents can visit Serbia, Belgrade without visas.»

The Foreign Affairs Minister of Serbia Vuk Jeremic noted that the countries support each other on an international level. Kazakhstan is one of the fast developing countries of the world and they hope for a strengthening of economic cooperation, especially in agriculture, construction and pharmaceuticals.
