The German manufacturer of car sets, Draxlmaier, is again forced to reduce the number of workers employed in its plant in Zrenjanin due to the global crisis in the automotive industry.
According to the company, the crisis caused by the corona virus has a significant impact on the global economy and car manufacturers around the world.
According to Ralph Capel, General Manager of Draxlmaier, the management decided to pay a one-time bonus with the January salary.
Due to the fact that some of the clients of this company completely stopped production for a few months, and had a reduced workload, Draxlmaier decided to lay off part of the workers, so he could not use the state aid which was a condition for the employer reduce the number of workers by more than 10 percent.
According to him, Draxlmaier is trying to save every job and save in many areas of his business, in order to overcome the crisis period and secure thousands of jobs in the long run. Although the number of workers whose contract was not extended has not been disclosed, it is known that before the crisis caused by the corona virus, Draxlmaier hired close to 7,000 employees, Danas reports.
