Veroljub Dugalic, secretary general of the Association of Serbian Banks, stated Wednesday there was a slight increase in household debt in May compared to the previous month, adding he believes this is the first sign that the standard is improving.

The overall indebtedness of Serbian citizens in bank loans totaled RSD 692.744 billion in end-May, while a month earlier it amounted to RSD 687.255 billion.

“Let us say this is a small encouragement and the first sign that the standard is improving as well,” Dugalic told a press conference.
