EIB supports Serbian car factory

The Serbian government yesterday passed two Bills ratifying an agreement on the guarantee to Fiat Kompakt Automobili Srbija between Serbia and the European Investment Bank (EIB). The projects worth €150 and €50 million refer to the development of the current car factory in Kragujevac.

It also adopted a Bill ratifying a financial arrangement (APEX loan for SMEs and enterprises of medium market capitalisation) between Serbia, the EIB and the National Bank of Serbia, as well as Bill ratifying an agreement between the Serbian government and NATO regarding the safety of information and the code of accession.

In order to prevent abuse of the visa-free regime, the government passed a decree which thoroughly organises the manner of executing police authorisations by the border police and the duties of persons crossing the state border.

The government also passed a decree on establishing the Office for the Revision of the EU Funds Management System.
