France’s Conquest group has opened a plant for manufacturing, sales and servicing of public utility equipment in the Novi Sad Free Customs Zone.
Conquest SRB Ltd. CEO Bojan Cimbal said on Tuesday that the opening of the plant is the beginning of the first stage of the group’s investment.
“Following a research of this market, our group believes that the amortisation of machines used by some public utility companies is a great problem, and we believe that our machines can contribute to a significant boost to those companies’ budgets,” Cimbal said.
Conquest SRB will hire 30 people by the end of December, said Cimbal, who expects the figure to be much higher next year.
“Stage two of this investment implies assembling machines from Serbian-made components, and I believe that it will be implemented by December this year. The goal of the group is to establish a long-term operation with successive growth,” Cimbal concluded.
“The battle for every job is crucial and I am very pleased that the Conquest group, which operates successfully in neighbouring countries, has opened an operation in our city for manufacturing, sales and servicing of public utility equipment,” Novi Sad Mayor Milos Vucevic said.
The city will provide logistic support to any potential investor that is ready to do business in Novi Sad, he said.
The Conquest group is comprised of the utility equipment manufacturers Acometis, Etesia, Husson International and Noremat, established companies specialised in top-quality equipment for winter and summer road maintenance, arranging green surfaces as well as urban furniture and playgrounds.
