From the beginning of January to the end of August, the Serbian industry recorded a growth of 6.9 percent

Industrial production in Serbia increased by 0.1 percent in August compared to the same month in 2020, while it decreased by 0.4 percent compared to the average last year, according to today’s data from the Republic Bureau of Statistics (SORS).
From the beginning of January to the end of August, the Serbian industry recorded a growth of 6.9 percent compared to the same period a year earlier.
In August, on an annual level, growth was recorded in mining by 2.3 percent, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 6.2 percent and in the processing industry by 1.3 percent.
Observed by purpose groups, the production of capital products increased by 3.8 percent year-on-year last month, the production of energy increased by 1.8 percent, and the production of non-durable consumer goods by 1.3 percent.
On the other hand, in August, the production of intermediate goods, except energy, fell by 1.4 percent and durable consumer goods by 18.3 percent compared to the same month last year.
According to seasonally adjusted data, the total industrial production in August recorded a growth of 0.3 percent compared to the previous month, while the processing industry grew by 0.9 percent.
Compared to the average in 2020, August’s industrial production, according to seasonally adjusted data, increased by 4.0 percent, while the processing industry jumped by 6.6 percent, Srbija Danas reports.
