Gasic announces help for PPT modernization

The Serbian government and the Ministry of Defence will help the military equipment factory Prva petoletka-Namenska (PTT) in Trstenik to maintain high quality and increase productivity in order to be competitive in the world market, Minister of Defence Branislav Gasic stated on Monday.

Touring the company, which marks its 66th anniversary on Monday, Gasic said that this help will involve securing investments for modernization of equipment.

He said at the ceremony that followed that PTT offers crucial backing to other defence companies that rely on it.
Gasic and PTT managers toured the factory’s production capacities, the Ministry of Defence released in a statement.

Andjelka Atanaskovic, PTT director general, said that the minister learned firsthand that the procurement of equipment and machines is necessary, and expressed hope that help will soon be provided to the company.
