Germany’s I.G. Bauerhin boosts annual output to 7 million car seat heaters

Germany-based car seat heater producer I.G. Bauerhin has increased annual production at its factory in Indjija to seven million units, from 100,000 it churned out in 2007, when it set up production in Serbia, Nebojsa Dragicevic, head of the German company’s Serbian subsidiary, IGB Automotive, said at a ceremony marking its fifth anniversary on the local market, Vecenje Novosti wrote.

IGB Automotive currently employs 840 workers, up from 60 it initially had on its payroll, he recalled, adding that another 100 will be hired next month. The Indjija plant, which currently also manufactures one million seat sensors a year, supplies heaters and sensors for Audi, BMW, Fiat, Ford, Mercedes, Opel, Nissan, Porsche, and other auto industry leaders.
