In 2011 there were a lot of announcements in the media on the opening of a rich gold mine near Majdanpek – Coka Marin mine. Most media reports talk of four foreign companies that are interested in mining in the Coka Marin. 2012 is getting near its end and there is no trace of those foreign companies and no mention of the exploitation of gold and copper from Coka Marin. A letter, signed by a concerned engineer, recently sent to Mining Engineering Association reminded us of all this.
