Of the 10 largest companies in Serbia, on Deloitte’s Top 500 leading companies in Central Europe, only one is owned by a Serbian businessman.

The focus is on “EFT Investments”, owned by Vuk Hamović, which is considered the largest electric provider from Ukraine to Greece. This company reported revenue of 814.2 million Euros and secured number 261 on the list released by Deloitte of the year 2013.

One year earlier, according to Deloitte, Hamović’s corporation was the most successful company in the region with a total income of 2.16 billion Euros and was ranked 63rd on the list, a ranking that now belongs to the “Petroleom Industry of Serbia” (PIS), which progressed 15 rankings from the last list.

Kiril Kravčenko, the general director of PIS explained the positive results of 2013.

“Last year was quite complex for the company. We were quite content, despite the unstabilized macroeconomic situation and increased volume of tax liabilities, we were able to preserve our profitability and implement an investment program to its full extent.”

The number of Serbian companies featured on Deloitte’s list has increased from eight to 10 and their total income is around 11 billion Euros. In the last year no Serbian companies have lost their spot on the list, and for this updated list “Fiat” and “Idea” have joined.
