An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission headed by Zuzana Murgasova will start an official visit to Serbia on Wednesday. The visit will take place as part of the first review of a three-year precautionary arrangement signed at the beginning of this year.

During the visit, which will last until May 12, the current economic situation in the country will be assessed – as its trump card, the Serbian government will present the fiscal results, with the deficit in the first three months of this year just half of what has been agreed with the IMF.

According to past practices, the review of the arrangement under Article 4 of the IMF statute will begin with a ceremonial session of the representatives of the IMF mission and the Serbian government and continue with discussions at technical expert level.
