Trade between Serbia and Hungary is growing continuously and reached a record value of 1.76 billion euros in 2019, when Hungary was Serbia’s sixth foreign trade partner, it was said today during talks between Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matic and Ambassador Hungary in Serbia by Attila Pinter.

As it was said, the growth trend continued in 2020, despite the coronavirus pandemic, and by December, the total trade exchange amounted to 1.76 billion euros, which is an increase of 9.5% compared to the same period last year.
The impetus for the development of trade and trade will undoubtedly enable the continuation of works on the number of the Belgrade-Budapest railway and the soon completion of the works on the reconstruction of the Szeged-Subotica railway, it was assessed at the meeting.
Matic pointed out that the two countries should use their national, cultural and geographical connections in order to work together on the promotion and recovery of tourism in the post-Covid period.
– We believe that there is a huge potential for improving cooperation in the field of tourism, especially in the joint promotion of the Danube region and our joint appearances to third markets – said Matic.
Peter pointed out that Hungary supports the proposal to introduce a Covid passport and that he expects a consensus on this issue at the European Council meeting scheduled for January 21, according to a statement from the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, eKapija reports.
