In August 2021, Serbia increased its exports by 31.9 percent compared to the same month last year

In August this year, goods worth 17.28 billion euros were exported from Serbia, which is an increase of 31.9 percent compared to that month last year, and imports were 23.4 billion euros, which is an increase of 33.1 percent, the Republic Bureau of Statistics announced today.

The total foreign trade of Serbia for the period January-August 2021 amounted to 31.57 billion euros and is 25.8 percent higher compared to the same period last year.
Exports of goods were worth about 13.66 billion euros, which is an increase of 28.5 percent, while imports were 17.91 million euros and increased by 23.7 percent.
The deficit in that period amounts to 4.24 billion euros, which is an increase of 10.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
The coverage of imports by exports is about 76.3 percent and is higher than the coverage in the same period last year, when it amounted to 73.5 percent.
Observed regionally, the largest share in Serbia’s exports was in the Region of Vojvodina (35.5 percent), followed by the Belgrade region (23.6), the Region of Sumadija and Western Serbia (21.9), and the Region of Southern and Eastern Serbia (18.9).
In the structure of exports by purpose of products, the most represented products are reproduction products, 61.5 percent, followed by consumer goods, 27.9 percent and equipment, 10.6 percent.
