Industrial production indices in the Republic of Serbia, June 2011

The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in June 2011, when compared to June 2010, increased by 3.3% and in relation to 2010 average, it increased by 4.4%. In the period January- June 2011, relative to the same period 2010, industrial production increased by 4.8%. 
Observed as divided by sections, in June 2011 compared to the same month 2010, the trends were noted as follows:
·          the section of mining and quarrying – growth of 17.8%,
·          the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply– growth of 13.3% and
·          the section of manufacturing – growth of 0.5%.
 
The data on industrial production by destination in June 2011, compared to June 2010, expressed growth in the production of the following goods:
·          energy, by 11.5 %,
·          non- durable consumer goods, by 3.5% and
·          intermediate products, energy excluded, by 0.4%,
while fall was noted for: 
·          capital goods, by 10.4% and 
·          durable consumer goods, by 6.7%.
 
The industrial production volume in June 2011, compared to June 2010, expressed the following trends:
·          growth in 19 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 79%,
·          fall in 10 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 21%.
 
The largest influence on industrial production growth in June 2011 compared to June 2010 had the divisions of: electricity supply, manufacture of electrical equipment, mining of coal, manufacture of beverages and manufacture of paper and paper products.
 
The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for June 2011, compared to May 2011, indicates 3.1% fall of the overall industrial production and 1.1% fall of manufacturing.
The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for June 2011, compared to 2010 average, indicates 3.3% growth of the overall industrial production and 1.9% growth of manufacturing.
The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of the selected units of the section of manufacturing. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, the overall industrial production in June 2011 compared to 2010 average increased by 4.3% and manufacturing increased by 7.7%.
