Permanent Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Serbia Bogdan Lissovolik stated on Friday that the IMF mission should visit Serbia in May, in keeping with the requests of the Serbian government. The government requested that the mission should combine talks according to article four of the IMF Statute and negotiations on the potential programme which IMF backed, Lissovolik stated in a written statement.

Unless agreement is achieved concerning the goals of economic policy which would constitute a basis for talks on the programme or unless an agreement on the programme is achieved during the mission’s mandate, the IMF mission will continue talks on grounds of article four of the IMF Statute, Lissovolik stated.
