Despite the fact that a section of the highway from Preljina to Pozega has not yet been built, foreign companies are already interested in opening factories in Lucani.
“Lucani will have the inclusion and exclusion of the Krstac highway, and a temporary expropriation of 37 hectares has been done for the camps”, Mayor Milivoje Dolovic told the MNA news agency.
“These are camps in Negrisori and Krstac. The second will house nearly 600 Chinese nationals who will build the highway section in the next few years”, Dolovic said, adding that the local government had done all that was possible, eKapija reports.
“The Department of Urban Planning is engaged in acquiring the state of the complete motorway route, certain test works in tunnel shafts are being carried out, so we expect a great start of works. This will be a big deal or the municipality of Lucani”, Dolovic said.
Building a highway, Dolovic says, will create better conditions for economic development, tourism, etc.
“Along with the construction of the highway, we are beginning to form an industrial zone in Krstac. It will cover an area of about 30 hectares and the purchase of land will follow the dynamics of works on the highway”, he stated.
Asked if he already has interested companies in the construction of factories, Dolovic said that a few months ago an Italian delegation came in, which was interested in starting production of jumbo packaging bags.
“A few days ago, we received inquiries from a Polish company. We are not even close to completing the highway, and potential investors are already inquiring”, Dolovic said for eKapija.
