The president of Serbia says that tobacco producers hire seasonal workers mainly from Presevo and Albanians.
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated today after talks with the management of Japan Tobacco International that the company engages 250 households in Serbia in tobacco production, each of which employs between 40 and 60 seasonal workers, and said that the state will continue its otherwise exceptional cooperation with JTI.
Vucic said that JTI is expanding the network of tobacco producers in Vojvodina, which is very important for that part of our country.
He adds that he visited the JTI factory in Senta several times and thanked that company for everything they do in Serbia.
Vucic states that they hire 250 farms, which is 50 percent of the total number of producers in Serbia.
He noticed that Japanese investors are increasingly coming to Serbia and announced that the arrival of another Japanese investor in Novi Sad would be announced very soon and officially.
Vucic reminded that the cornerstone for the factory of the Japanese Toyo Tires was recently struck in Indjija.
– Where the Japanese are, there is seriousness and responsibility and our people are behaving extremely responsibly – said Vucic.
The president says that tobacco producers hire seasonal workers mainly from Presevo, Albanians, as well as a lot of people from Negotin, which is a signal that the state must do more for the south and east of Serbia.
He mentioned that JTI realizes annual exports of 300 million euros and that this company is one of our largest tax contributors.
Vucic noted that the roads in Vojvodina are very bad and that in that sense some projects will be added to the plan of Serbia 2025 and that in addition to the construction of the highway Novi Sad – Ruma, the highway Belgrade – Zrenjanin will be built, but also that many regional and local highways in Vojvodina.
There are big holes between the villages on the road, as if nothing has been invested in the last 50 or 60 years, Vucic added.
– We will invest a lot of money in roads and that will mean a lot for investors as well – Vucic emphasized, Srbija Danas reports.
