Three large Japanese companies Kawasaki, Mitsubishi and Hitachi have presented in Belgrade modern technologies for the construction and maintenance of thermal power plants that could be applied in Serbia, and there have been announcements that four more Japanese companies are interested in energy and environment protection projects in Serbia.
According to what was said during a meeting at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce on Monday, Serbia and Japan have a lot of potential for developing their economic cooperation, especially in energy, and those relations are expected to grow as Serbia moves closer to the EU.
Elektroprivreda Srbije has plans for significant investments over the next several years when it comes to constructing new energy production facilities and it counts on Japanese companies in developing future projects, Elektroprivreda Sbije General Director Dragomir Markovic said at this regional meeting, entitled Modern Japanese Technology for Environment Protection and Production of Electricity in Coal Fuelled Thermal Power Stations.
