Serbian Finance Minister Lazar Krstic said Thursday that competent authorities would control every taxpayer twice per month following entering into force of the new law on tax procedure and tax administration and stressed that fiscal consolidation was an essential prerequisite for economic development.
Speaking at a conference organized by the Foreign Investors Council (FIT) in Belgrade, Krstic said that two or three weeks after the adoption of the law, the government would start an uncompromising fight against the grey economy, pointing out that the draft law was to be discussed by the government Thursday.
Besides fiscal consolidation, the two other pillars of reform are the public sector reform and the business climate reform, Krstic said.
