Luxembourg holding interested in steel mill

The Luxembourg-based holding United Group SA is interested in investing in the Smederevo-based steel mill, said a release issued by the office of Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Jovan Krkobabic.

The holding’s owner, comprising Czech steelmaker Pilsen Steel and Russian Bummash, Igor Shami, who was received by Krkobabic on Thursday, expressed readiness to invest in the Smederevo steel mill, reads the statement that Tanjug has seen.

Krkobabic thanked for the holding’s interest and readiness to invest in Serbia’s leading export company. Pilsen Steel, which today has a 150-long tradition, was established through a merger of former Skoda steel factories. Both Pilsen Steel and Bummash are specialized in metallurgy and machine building.
