“Serbia is still suffering the consequences of the systemic corruption that caused billions of euros to disappear. This is still happening because the new government’s system still has not been established and the government did not go into the public companies to see what the situation is like there,” she told Beta news agency.

According to her, the Ministry will request from the competent organs to launch an investigation in public companies and public investment projects.

“I will insist on getting an answer. If we are wrong, we will apologize, if not, those who put us in this situation will have to be held responsible. If nothing else, they will not be able to work in public sector anymore,” she explained.

Mihajlović said that the Energy Ministry was not an investigator but that it would look into why Serbia lacked energy facilities and mines and why certain agencies had failed to do their job.
