Montenegro and Serbia abolish fees for transportation between the countries

The efforts of Montenegro’s Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs paid off and resulted in the abolition of charging fees for roads that they were paying Montenegrin transporters during intercourse through the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

Specifically, the Serbia of the first January 2013. has introduced a fee for the use of roads in the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro that they were paying freight and passenger carriers.

During intense negotiations with their counterparts from Serbia, expressed disagreement and dissatisfaction towards uvedenoj Compensation, Ministry of Transport of Montenegro was asked to review the underlying fee and terminate as soon as possible .. The problem of tolling was discussed during the meeting and the Minister with a delegation of the Economic Brajovic Montenegrin Chamber of Commerce, and then it was announced that the Serbian Ministry of Transport review the decision on the introduction of fees. Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce at the time supported the initiative of our ministry to the Montenegrin carriers terminate this extra levy.

In the communications ministers of the two countries Brajovic traffic and Mrkonjic agreed further action to address this problem, followed by a meeting of the Joint Commission, the delegation of the Republic of Montenegro and Serbia in Belgrade on 22 February 2013th , where he signed a protocol which was submitted the relevant state authorities for information. Protocol was precisely defined position of the Montenegrin Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs that the fee must be abolished as soon as possible.

Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Serbia informed the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs of Montenegro to the first March 2013 abolish the payment of fees.

Chairmen of the two ministries reached agreement once again showed their commitment to continue the good cooperation and the elimination of administrative and business barriers in international road transport between Montenegro and Serbia, thus our carriers to become more competitive in the transport market of the Republic of Serbia.
