Representatives of trade unions, employers and the Government of Serbia are starting negotiations on the minimum price of labor for 2021 today, and the final talks are scheduled for September 14, because the deadline is September 15 this year.
The Federation of Free Trade Unions of Serbia (SSSS) and the trade union UGS “Nezavisnost” are asking for the minimum wage to be increased from the current 250 euros to around 310 euros, which is the price of the minimum consumer basket.
The unions claim that despite the crisis due to the pandemic, the reason for the increase in the price of labor is the fact that it was previously agreed that the minimum wage should be equal to the minimum basket of food next year, which is currently being negotiated.
Employers are urging that negotiations on the minimum wage be postponed until the end of the year in order to better understand the situation in the economy
So far, the Government of Serbia has not decided on the increase of the minimum labor price, but if the unions and employers do not agree, it has the authority to make the final word on the amount of the minimum labor price, Beta reports.
