The visit was organized within the implementation of the Protocol on cooperation between Serbia and China, that is PE EPS and this consortium, for which China as a future strategic partner has shown interest to participate in the building of the unit B3 at TENT B at Ušće. The visitors from China welcomed by Zoran Stojanović and his associates visited the facilities of the power plant and factory space around the plant and they also had an opportunity to see the location planned for the construction of the unit B3.

In a conversation with their hosts, which was also attended by representatives of EPS, the Chinese delegation members showed great satisfaction at what they saw during the visit pointing out at a high level of technical efficiency and management quality of this plant.

The project of the unit B3 construction is also important for bilateral relations between China and Serbia- said Hiangzhi Zhao, the representative of Shenzhen corporation which is a part of the consortium.

According to Predrag  Šekeljić, Director of the B3 project, the project is conducted at the level of  PE „Electric Power Industry of Serbia“, and is in compliance with the Protocol on Cooperation between the two countries, which includes investment in the open pit mine „Radljevo“, so that in addition to TENT B3 construction, investment in the open pit mine and its opening will be considered as well.

We all expect to participate actively in the operation of the unit in terms of both staff engagement in the process of exploitation and in the process of maintenance as well, said Zoran Stojanović, Director of TENT B adding that it would be much cheaper and more efficient way of operation of the future unit rather than being completely separate company. Director Stojanović said that the representatives of Chinese companies, on this occasion, also visited the common facilities offered to a future partner which should be used for future unit B3.

The aim of this discussion is to define a form of cooperation between PE EPS and the consortium of Chinese companies- said Aleksandar Vlajčić, Director of System Improvement, adding that this was just one meeting in a series of upcoming ones between the two sides. According to him the first step is establishing terms of reference and feasibility studies of a new unit in parallel with these activities. PE EPS and TENT will consider the most appropriate models for this project together with the Chinese side.
