The capacity of the new plant amounts to 70,000 tons, thus facilitating the total annual processing capacity of 250,000 tons of soybean.

The investment is worth EUR 30mn and the new plant’s products will be widely used in food and pharmaceutical industry, since they contain a high percentage of protein.

Vojvodina Executive Council President Bojan Pajtić pointed out that the opening of the Victoria Group’s new factory was one of the best news in Serbia this year.

He also said that the plant would export products worth EUR 70mn, which would greatly improve the country’s trade balance and its position on the international economic scene.

According to Pajtić, a total of 400,000 businessmen cooperate with Sojaprotein and Victoria Group, thanks to which Vojvodina is much stronger.

Victoria group CEO Zoran Mitrović said that the investment in the new plant was part of the company’s investment plan for 2012/13 worth over EUR 100mn.

Sojaprotein has become part of Victoria Group’s successful business system 10 years ago, and in the past period the volume of production has increased by 124,000 tons, the volume of exports reached almost EUR 45mn, whereas the total income has doubled.

Thanks to this investment, almost 80 percent of Sojaprotein’s products based on genetically unmodified soybeans will be placed in exports, instead of the current 50 percent.
