Reasons for this may be the key concentration of foreign trade companies in the region of Belgrade and Vojvodina, as well as the under-developed infrastructure and a smaller inflow of foreign investment in the south and east of the country, Vice
President of Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) Mihailo Vesovic has told Tanjug.

According to the Statistical Office the Republic of Serbia, last year the northern province of Vojvodina accounted for the most of Serbia’s exports – 37.2 percent, followed by the exports from the Belgrade region – 23.5 percent, Sumadija and western Serbia – 20 percent, and southern and eastern Serbia – 19 percent.

On the other hand, the region of Belgrade imported the most – 45.5 percent, followed by Vojvodina – 30.3 percent, Sumadija and western Serbia – 13.2 percent, and southern and eastern Serbia – 9.9 percent.
