Panel discussion on “NTP Nis as a tool of regional development” gathered representatives of regional institutions (regional chambers of commerce, regional development agencies, business incubators, startup centers and coworking spaces from the Region of Southern and Eastern Serbia) to get acquainted with the capacities and work of NTP Nis and with the aim of identifying mechanisms and areas of cooperation, said NTP Nis.
The conclusion of the panel is that there are different groups of stakeholders, and therefore different perceptions, as well as expectations that in the coming period NTP Nis should meet, and that intensive work should be done to strengthen cooperation with regional institutions, primarily to develop regional innovation ecosystem.
The panel was moderated by Dr. Milan Randjelovic, Director of NTP Nis, and the panelists were representatives of institutions identified as key partners of NTP Nis – Dr. Ivan Rakonjac, Director of the Innovation Fund, Goran Jovic, Director of the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Jablanica and Pcinja Management Board , Vladan Jeremic, Director of the Regional Agency for Development of Eastern Serbia, Milos Colis, Deputy Mayor of Pirot, prof. dr Vladislav Marjanovic, councilor for economy, investments and regional development of the City of Nis and prof. Dr. Vlastimir Nikolic, Vice Rector for Teaching at the University of Nis.
– Nis has a very good background when it comes to higher education, but also a base which, when it comes to information technology and industry related to technical-technological activity, is very fertile – said Rakonjac.
– Nis is becoming more and more important. We in Leskovac, and I hope our colleagues in Zajecar and Krusevac, have no problem with Nis being the one who gathers us here and who should provide the opportunity for the whole of Southern and Eastern Serbia to be exactly a part of this story. We must help Nis, as a former electronics center, unite regional institutions from different segments to support NTP Nis and what the Government has recognized here – said Jovic, director of the Regional Chambers of Commerce of Jablanica and Pcinja Management Board.
After the panel, a presentation of the Fund for Innovation Activity was held for the members of NTP Nis, where programs to support the development of the innovative economy and concrete opportunities for cooperation were presented.
The director of the Fund pointed out that a large number of companies, as well as scientific research institutions from Nis, received funding for projects in the Fund for Innovation Activity and that he was very glad that some of these companies, whether startups or technological development, among the first to become members of NTP Nis.
The panel “NTP Nis as a tool of regional development” was organized by NTP Nis in cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce – Regional Chamber of Commerce of Nisava, Pirot and Toplica administrative districts, Regional Development Agency SOUTH and the City of Nis – Office for Local Economic Development and Projects, eKapija reports.
