Serbia’s Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Kori Udovicki said on Friday evening that a program for reducing the number of public sector employees will be presented in seven to ten days.

Declaring open “Serbian Visions- the first multi-congress in Serbia and festival of the civil society”, Udovicki said that the downsizing program is so important that it turned into a modernization of the public administration, and called on non-governmental organizations to help government officials explain to the public what this process implies.

Udovicki said that the bill on public sector salaries will be adopted on time, as announced, so financial control will be introduced in this field in 2016.

The draft law on administrative proceedings will be subject to public discussion in late May, she said, noting that the recently adopted law on inspections will be quite complex for implementation.

“We have to make 12 ministries and 39 administrations cooperate,” Udovicki said.
