Public utility company Belgrade Metro and Train (BMV) will acquire mobile telephony services from Telekom Serbia, which beat Norwegian Telenor by offering a significantly lower price in the competition.
Telekom Serbia offered services for one year for 1,600 euros, significantly less than Telenor’s offer of 5,000 euros, according to the contract notice published on January 20th. These amounts relate to the total one-year VAT-free subscription, and Telekom also offered significantly lower roaming rates in Europe and lower roaming SMS rates, the contract award decision shows.
While Telenor offered the cost of an outgoing call for France, Spain, Italy and Germany from 30 cents per minute without VAT after the packages were spent, Telekom set its price at only 1 cent.
The price of a text message in roaming to these same countries in Telenor’s offer is 5 cents, while Telekom offered to charge 1 cent without VAT.
At the end of last year, BMV launched a public procurement for the formation of a group of users of the PUC Belgrade Metro and a 21 train.
According to the tender documentation, “the number of employees is planned to be increased during 2020 and therefore the number of users will be higher”.
The bidder was requested to approve a budget of 5,500 euros with BMV for the beneficial purchase of mobile telephones at the choice of the contracting authority.
Each procurement of appliances will be deducted from the offered budget for the duration of the contract, the full price of the appliances selected by BMV, and each such apparatus will be paid by the public company at a discounted price of 1 cent without VAT, writes Nova Ekonomija.
