Russia-Serbia investment conference in Moscow

Serbian and Russian chambers of commerce will organize an investment conference on Nov. 15, to be attended by officials and companies from both countries.

Serbian Chamber of Commerce adviser in Moscow Radojica Sretenović told Tanjug a meeting of the inter-governmental committee for trade, economic, science and technical cooperation will be held at the same time, also in Moscow, between November 15 and 16.

He expects the plenary session to include the committee’s co-presidents, Serbia’s Minister of Natural Resources Milan Bačević and Russia’s Minister of Energy Aleksandr Novak.

Members of the Russia-Serbia business council, whose co-presidents are Vadim Voroboiov from Lukoil and Branislav Grujic from PSP Farman, will be there as well.

Officials of Gazprom and Gazpromneft are expected too.

Sretenović said the companies who wish to attract Russian investors will present their offer at the conference, and that there will also be talk about projects of national significance.

Also on Tuesday, it was reported that Russia’s goal was to establish a strategic partnership with Serbia, and that it believed that such a format best suits the core of the Russian-Serbian relations.

As Tanjug learned in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, “modification of an earlier interstate declaration was under way”.

The issue of signing of this document will be addressed after harmonization and consideration the schedule of bilateral contacts at the highest level, the ministry said, adding that Moscow views friendly Serbia as its most important partner in the Balkan region.
