Ljajic and Abdulsada agreed that there is sufficient room for improving economic cooperation in agriculture, construction and energy, which were top branches in terms of developing bilateral relations in the previous period. A sound basis for a successful continuation of economic cooperation can be found in the Memorandum of understanding in agriculture, as well as agreements on economic relations and cooperation between the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and relevant chambers in Iraq. The drafting of these agreements is nearing completion. Ljajic and the Iraqi Ambassador affirmed their readiness to continue the work of the Serbian-Iraqi Mixed Commission for Economic, Technical and Scientific Cooperation, which will provide an additional impetus in the improvement of relations between the two countries, reads a statement by the Deputy Prime Minister’s office.
