Serbia becomes the first country to commence the investment phase of Southern Stream

The stockholders’ assembly of Southern Stream Serbia has decided to build the gas line through our country, whereby Serbia has become the first country to commence the investment phase of that project, Srbijagas general manager Dušan Bajatović told a press conference. He confirmed, after a session of the stockholders’ assembly of Southern Stream – representatives of the Russian Gazprom and Srbijagas – that the building of the gas line would commence in December.

The value of the construction of the gas line through Serbia has been estimated at 1.7 billion euros and the section will be 470km long, emphasized Bajatovic, adding that the gas line will be put into operation in December 2015.
