NIS has kicked off the third season of its internship program, welcoming students from the Mechanical School “Pančevo,” Technical School “23. May,” and Electrical Engineering School “Nikola Tesla.” This initiative, part of NIS’s “Knowledge Energy” corporate program, aims to provide hands-on experience for young people entering the workforce.

This year’s cohort includes 27 trainees. Sixteen will gain experience at the Oil Refinery in Pančevo, with four joining the Downstream Laboratory at the Science and Technology Center of NIS (NTC), and seven at HIP Petrohemija. The internship program, which lasts six months, includes mentorship and various training opportunities, offering a paid experience that could potentially lead to permanent positions within the company.

Olgica Ristić, HR Business Partner at Blok Prerada, welcomed the interns and encouraged them to make the most of their time, stressing the program’s high employment rate post-internship. “We are here to support you over the next six months. Be curious, engage with your mentors, and take full advantage of this opportunity,” she said.

Mentor Nikola Kljajić, Manager of the Pancevo Water Production and Distribution Plant, also emphasized the importance of making the most of the internship, noting the company’s ongoing need for young talent.

Interns like Boris Nikolić, from the Electrical Engineering School, and Jelena Živković, from the Technical School “23. May,” shared their expectations and goals. Nikolić hopes to gain experience and potentially secure a job with NIS, while Živković is keen on exploring her interest in the field and considering further education if needed.

Directors Nenad Dojčinović and Marija Petković from the Mechanical School “Pančevo” and the Technical School “23. May,” respectively, also expressed their satisfaction with the long-standing partnership with NIS and wished the interns success in their careers.
