Consumer prices rose 4.3% in July 2024

According to the Republic Statistical Office, personal consumption prices in July 2024 increased by 4.3% compared to the same month last year. When compared to December 2023, prices rose by an average of 2.7%. From June to July 2024, consumer prices saw an average increase of 0.4%.

Price increases were observed across several key groups of products and services in July. Notable rises included recreation and culture (3.1%), transport (1%) and communications (0.8%). Increases were also seen in household equipment and maintenance (0.7%), restaurants and hotels (0.5%), health (0.2%), and in alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and education (0.1% each).

Conversely, prices fell in the clothing and footwear category (-0.3%) and in housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels (-0.1%). Prices for other products and services remained relatively stable.
