Serbia’s retail trade sees significant growth in August 2024

In August 2024, Serbia experienced a notable increase in retail trade, with turnover in current prices rising by 8.2% compared to the same month last year, and by 5.3% in constant prices, according to data from the Republic Institute of Statistics (RZS).

When examining the first eight months of 2024 against the same period in 2023, the retail turnover increased by 11.6% in current prices and by 7.1% in constant prices.

Retail trade in food, beverages and tobacco saw a current price increase of 10.5% compared to August 2023, with a real price rise of 6.4%. Meanwhile, non-food product retail trade grew by 8.4% in current prices and 5.8% in real terms.
